How to Become a Professional Photo Editor

It just comes in our mind what if I would shift of becoming a photo editor. Well it sounds good but the problem is, how could I become a professional photo editor? That’s just a simple question but it takes time to be one of them, but with proper guide from experts you could easily absorb everything.

Focus you’re interest with photography. Although photo editors don’t actually shoot pictures and do extensive retouch. They are actually collecting those pictures from their clients or if their doing these as their hobby they just download pictures from the web and then retouch it on their own way. You need to put weight on your desire to learn photography.

Take some tutorial. You need to begin learning the basics of photo editing, familiarize the things that you must engage in your way. Although there are people that are inborn talented to be a great photo editor, they are born with art and talent but still they need to start from scratch.

Develop relationship with other professionals. Be resourceful enough to gain more knowledge and techniques, so one way to do it is to seek help or ask other photographers some unique ideas or tips on how to further enhance your art.

Be open-minded and optimistic. There are some photo editors that are very good in their field but there are times that the customers are not happy or satisfied with their job because they think that they know everything, that’s why they continue to do the things which for them as a photo editors is the right thing to do. Which is not a good habit be open minded, listen to your customer’s if they like that then follow them if you think that it sounds bad then give some suggestions but if they really like it just follow them.

Apply your passion and talent. These things are common to everyone but there are rarely people who really do it with passion. Yes that’s true, even though your good at it, it means that you’re passionate enough, no for me even though you’re not really good in photo editing, you only know limited amount of techniques and ideas but if you’re born passionately and with talent in line with it you could produce an art that everyone can’t. Just do it with big smile, patience and observation who know after a week, a month or a year you can be a Professional Photo Editor, just believe in yourself and love with what you can. Photo Editing is not just a job; it must develop inside you, your love and interest of doing it.

  3. SumoPaint
SumoPaint is another free online and desktop photo editor with basic and advanced features. You can upload a photo from your computer or from a URL.
Basic overall photo editing like brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, color balance, and levels can be achieved from the menu bar on top of the editor.
The left pane has the drawing tools which include several shapes. One, in particular, is called the Symmetry tool, which “mirrors” a shape’s stroke, creating a symmetric pattern.
Besides tweaking images, I find Sumopaint to be useful in creating simple logos using the text and brush tools.
Other than the ads that appear on both sides of the web editor and intermittently crash Chrome (the tool uses Flash to run the web version), this photo editor gets the job done easily and is more than suitable for users who are not photo editing experts.
